70 -- LIGHTSPEED SOFTWARE AND MAINTENANCE DUE 101896 POC Elizabeth Clark Tel: 410-965-9465 The Social Security Administration is attempting to identify vendors that can provide an off-the-shelf software product and subsequent maintenance for such software, which is the functional equivalent of the software product: Lightspeed Software. Any such equivalent shall have the following functions and features: 1) Wang VS terminal emulation; 2) provides for Wang word-processing support over a local area network (LAN); 3) uses a protocol IPX/SPX that allows for connectivity over Social Security Administration~s (SSA) WAN; 4) supports document exchange, conversion and directory synchronization of SSA~s cc:Mail to and from Wang Office mail; 4) Support over 32 users on a single gateway, and has SCSI capability that can support over 60 users, and 5) support intelligent workstation/LAN (IWS/LAN) printing and print redirection of Wang VS print traffic. All of the above functions are necessary for the wide area network (WAN)-configured Disability Determination Services (DDS) to continue daily operations without interruption. Firms possessing the capability to furnish the above software and maintenance services and who wish to be considered for any future procurement are invited to submit complete information discussing such capabilities, i.e., descriptive literature/brochures, and if applicable GSA schedules. The responses must clearly state the ability to provide and maintain the required software product. The information respondents provide shall pertain to this synopsis only. Cross-referencing to material previously submitted will not be acceptable. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of the source data received. No cost or pricing data is required or requested. No contract award will be made on the basis of responses received; however, this information will be used in SSA's assessment of capable sources. The Government does not intend to pay for the information solicited or received. This is not a request for proposals and requests for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged.
