The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Divison, Annapolis Detachment intends to negotiate a Cost Plus Fixed Fee IDIQ Contract on a Sole Source basis with York International Corporation, York Pennsylvania, for engineering and analytical services to develop backfit modifications for CFC-114 centrifugal compressor (AC) plants. The purpose of the equipment modification is to modify all existing HFC-236fa refrigerant. The Navy currently has a large population of CFC-114 air conditioning plants, of varying capacities, in use in the fleet. Work tasks will include, but not to be limited to the following areas: compressor modification development; fabrication and modification of compressors; control system modification development; fabrication of control system modifications; installation kit instructions and material development; installation kit installation and material manufacture; AC plant conversion, testing, and qualification; AC plant conversion and startup assistance onboard ship; modification technical manuals; documentation, reports, drawings, and stress analysis support.
