R -- ADDITION OF ADDITIONAL MODEL CAPABILITIES TO ECOSYSTEM MODEL AQUATOX SOL 96-3439 DUE 101196 POC Contact Point, Thomas Valentino, (202)260-1252 This notice is to announce the intention of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to award, on the basis of other than full and open competition, a small purchase order to Eco Modeling. The purpose of this purchase order is to add additional model capabilities to the existing ecosystem model AQUATOX, the only ecological risk model that represents the combined environmental fate and effects of toxic chemicals. Such additional model capabilities include chronic effects and uncertainty analysis, concurrent verification of the model constructs, validation of model performance with field data, and preparation of guidance in the form of additions to the existing User's Manual and Technical Documentation. EPA believes that Eco Modeling is the only firm that can provide these services because, as the developer of the AQUATOX model, it is the only firm with access to the model. However, EPA will accept quotes from other vendors who can demonstrate their ability to provide the services required, as specified above.
