Command intends to award a contract to Raytheon Company,
Electromagnetic Systems Division, Goleta, CA, for engineering and
manufacturing services to modify the AN/ALE-50 Airborne Multi-Platform
Launch Controller (MPLC) to add the capability to provide control to
the Integrated Defensive Electronic Countermeasures (IDECM) Fiber Optic
Towed Decoy (FOTD). The effort includes design, development and
modification of existing AN/ALE-50 MPLCs, and production of new dual
configuration MPLCs. The contract also provides for the estiblishment
of Associate Contractor Agreements (ACA) between Raytheon and the
aircraft platform manufacturers. Raytheon is the AN/ALE-50 system
developer. As such, they are the only known source with the personnel,
expertise and facilities required to perform this effort within the
