Montgomery, Regional Contract Specialist, 606-253-8880. The Federal
Bureau of Prisons intends to award a Non personal services contract for
a Radiology/X-Ray Technician. Duties are to be performed in the Health
Services Unit, at the Federal Correctional Institution, Petersburg,
Virginia. The services include taking and processing of all
radiographic examinations ordered by the clinical staff of the Health
Services unit. The provider shall prepare radiographic films for
mailing or pickup if they are not to be interpreted at providers
facility. This shall include the preparation of the patient's film
jacket (if available) with appropriate entries. The contractor shall
use flash identification cards for all radiographic films taken. If a
study is ordered on a new patient then a new flash card shall be
prepared. The contractor shall ensure that all radiographic requests
are completed in their entirety. The contractor shall make all required
entries in the radiology log book. The contractor shall ensure that all
Quality Assurnace (QA) studies are performed and appropriately
recorded. The contractor shall ensure that all radiographic films and
reports shall be returned to FCI Petersburg, within five (5) working
days. Emergent and significantly castastrophic results shall be
telephoned to the Clinical Director or Health Services Administrator
(HSA) as soon as the radiograph is read. The contractor shall provide
any inservice training of health service staff as requested by the HSA.
The contractor must keep x-ray files updated, and file the x-ray films
and results. They must clean the processor on a regular basis and
change the chemicals. The contractor shall maintian a QA program on the
x-ray processor and x-ray films.(i.e. retakes). Radiographic
Technicians must be licenced, certified, and registered to perform
radiographic procedures and studies in the state of Virginia. This
contract will include a base year not to exceed (12) twelve months from
date of award, with four (4), one (1) year option periods for renewal.
Estimated number of sessions for the base year =260, (five (5)
sessions per week, one (1) session equals four (4) hours in length.)
Option Year #1 estimated sessions = 260, Option Year #2 estimated
sessions = 260, Option Year #3 estimated sessions = 260, Option Year #4
estimated sessions = 260. Solicitation packages will be mailed
approximately October 15, 1996, with an approximate due date of
November 15, 1996. It is anticipated this solicitation will result from
a Firm Fixed Price, Requirements, type contract. The proposed contract
is 100% set aside for small business concerns. All responsible sources
