Montgomery, Regional Contract Specialist, 606-253-8880. The Federal
Bureau of Prisons intends to award a Non personal services contract for
an Orthopedic Surgeon. Duties are to be performed in the Health
Services Unit, at the Federal Correctional Institution, Petersburg,
Virginia. The services include examination, diagnoses, and making of
recommendations to the Clinical Director for appropriate orthopedic
care/further treatment of bone disease(s), prescribe bonewear, and any
medically indicated features of bonewear for patient's unigue bone
needs, perform casting and fracture reduction when medically
indicated/requested. The contractor shall also make recommedations to
the Health Services Administrator and Clinical Director for the
treatment of bone diseases and the procurement of bonewear. The
contractor shall provide written reports of his/her clinical findings
and recommedations for treatment. The contractor shall provide
continuing medical education to the medical staff as required and
scheduled by the Health Services Administrator. The contractor shall
possess and provide a copy of licensure as an Orthopedic Surgeon in the
state of Virginia, and must also provide credentialing verification
from an approved agency. At a minimum, the contractor must have a
degree from an acredited college or university in the field of
Orthopedic Surgery. The potential candidate must submit a Curiculm
vitae as part of the bid package. This contract will include a base
year not to exceed 12 months from date of award, with four (4), one (1)
year option periods for renewal. Estimated number of sessions for the
base year = 24; (two (2) sessions per month, one (1) session equals
four (4) hours in length.) Option Year #1 estimated sessions = 24;
Option Year #2 estimated sessions = 24; Option Year #3 estimated
sessions = 24; Option Year #4 estimated sessions = 24. Solicitation
packages will be mailed approximately October 11, 1996, with an
approximate due date of Novemebr 1, 1996. It is anticipated this
solicitation will result from a Firm Fixed Price, Requiremetns, type
contract. The proposed contract is 100% set aside for small business
concerns. All responsible sources may submit an offer which may be
