Montgomery, Regional Contract Specialist, 606-253-8880. The Federal
Bureau of Prisons intends to award a Non personal services contract for
Medical Laboratory Technician. Duties are to be performed in the Health
Services Unit, at the Federal Correctional Institution, Petersburg,
Virginia. The services include drawing of blood, giving tuberculine
skin tests, and tetanus shots to the inmate population. Keeping a log
of all the laboratory procedures and filing of laboratory results. The
provider shall provide written reports of his/her clinical findings
and recommendations for treatment. The provider shall provide
continuing medical education to the medical staff as required and
scheduled by the Health Services Administrator. The provider is
required to have extensive knowledge of laboratory techniques. At a
minimum, contractor must have a degree from an accredited college or
university in the field of Laboratory Technology, or certificate of
experience. The potential candidate must submit a Ciriculm vitae as
part of the bid package. The contractor shall furnish a copy of all
state licenses, certifications, and/or registrations. This contract
will include a base year not to exceed (12) twelve months from date of
award, with four (4), one (1) year option periods for renewal.
Estimated number of sessions for the base year =260, (five (5) sessions
per week, one (1) session equals six (6) hours in length.) Option Year
#1 estimated sessions = 260, Option Year #2 estimated sessions = 260,
Option Year #3 estimated sessions = 260, Option Year #4 estimated
sessions = 260. Solicitation packages will be mailed approximately
October 15, 1996, with an approximate due date of November 15, 1996. It
is anticipated this solicitation will result from a Firm Fixed Price,
Requirements, type contract. The proposed contract is 100% set aside
for small business concerns. All responsible sources may submit an
offer which may be considered for award. Requests for Solicitation
