A SOLICITATION NOTICE WILL BE PUBLISHED BEFORE INVITATIONS ARE ISSUED. The work includes converting the existing fire alarm communication systems from telephone line communication to radio communication. This work shall include providing building transceivers at existing buildings and connecting to the existing fire alarm control panels or fire alarm devices at those buildings. It shall also include providing remote solar-powered pull station/transceivers at off-base housing. It shall further include providing base station consoles and all associated equipment, including UPS units, interconnections, wiring, conduit, antenna tower and antennae, antenna wiring and all other equipment required to result in a complete and operative system. A portable receiving/dispatch system shall be provided. Portable pull stations shall be provided. In addition, minor electrical work and minor architectural modifications shall be provided to perform the work. This work involves the disturbance of some lead-containing paint and some asbestos siding shingles. The work also include all incidental related work necessary to provide a complete and usable facility. The contractor will be required to complete the work in 240 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. Following tentative dates apply: Issue invitations 10/96, open bids 11/96, complete contract 6/97. Estimated cost is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000. (268)
