(513) 648-5168. Fluor Daniel Fernald FDF) is scheduled to release an
Invitation for Bid (IFB) on or about December 9, 1996 for the Advanced
Wastewater Treatment Expansion Project at the Department of Energy's
Fernald Environmental Management Project (FEMP) in Fernald, Hamilton
County, Ohio. This project includes the fabrication and installation of
6 skid mounted carbon steel, lined Ion Exchange Tanks (4,700 gallon
capacity), 4 skid mounted carbon steel, lined Multimedia Filter Tanks
(3,800 gallon capacity) with associated piping and components and 1
Aeration Tank (10,000 capacity). This project will also include the
fabrication and installation of approximately 3,100 linear feet of
above ground carbon steel piping with associated supports, 1400 linear
feet of underground HDPE piping, all instrumentation, electrical
commodities, supplying and installing mechanical equipment (pumps,
strainers, blower and MCC). The contractor shall provide all personnel
supervision, facilities, equipment (pumps, strainers, blower and MCC).
The contractor shall provide all personnel supervision, facilities,
equipment, material, supplies and services (except as may be expressly
set forth in any subsequent subcontract) and otherwise do all things
necessary for, or incident to, the performance of the work as set forth
in the subcontract. The successful bidder will be required to comply
with terms and conditions of the FEMP Site Project Labor Agreement for
union construction labor forces. The contractor must be able and
willing to perform at least 45% of the work with their own work forces.
To be qualified to bid and receive award for this work, a prospective
bidder must provide a list of previous subcontracts meeting Criteria 1.
The list shall include a project name and brief description of actual
work performed, location, point of contact and telephone number for the
project owner, and total dollar value of the bidders subcontract.
CRITERION 1 Demonstrated successful performance (quality, technical and
schedule) by the contractor of at least two contracts working with
union labor within the last (5) five years in which the contractor's
contract amount was at least $1,000,000 and at least 45% of this work
was performed directly by the contractor involving the fabrication and
installation of carbon steel tanks, installation of carbon steel and
HDPE piping, and associated instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical
equipment. CRITERION 2 Demonstrated successful record of safe
construction performance by a current workers compensation experience
modification rate (EMR) of less than or equal to 1.05 or the trend for
the past three years downward and none of the past three years has an
EMR greater than 1.25. Firms interested in this work must meet ALL the
above defined criteria to be eligible to receive the Invitation for
Bid. The estimated cost of the project is $3,000,000.00 to
$5,000,000.00. Bid guarantee required, non-refundable charge for
