Fishing Asscess known as Site ''C'', is an unimproved boat ramp and
parking area located southwest of Fellsmere, Florida. The site is used
for powerboat and airboat access to the Blue Cypress Water Management
Area. Existing features include a gravel boat ramp, grassed parking
area, and portable toilet facility. The new design provides for a
concrete boat ramp with floating dock, timber airboat ramp, asphalt
parking area, picnic shelters with tables and walks, landscaping, site
signage, and restroom facilities with walks. Other design features
include stormwater retention, a remote timber levee crossing for
airboat, and handicap assessibility for the physically disabled at the
picnic shelters and restroom facilities. The anticipated construction
duration will be approximately 4 months and it will be necessary
during construction that only one recreation area will be closed and
constructed at a time. FELLSMERE GRADE: Fellsmere Grade Fishing Access,
also known as Site ''E'', is located northwest of the City of Fellsmere
and is approximately 8 miles west of Highway 507 along the Fellsmere
Canal. Recently, expansion of the parking area and installation of a
new boat ramp have been performed. The new design provides for a
handicap accessible concrete fishing pier, a timber airboat ramp,
restroom facilities, and regrading and aggregate surfacing of the
parking area. Construction will also includes the installation of
detention ponds, handicap parking, landscaping, and a remote timber
levee crossing for airboats. The anticipated construction duration will
be approximately 4 months and it will be necessary during construction
that only one recreation area wil be closed and constructed at a time.
Magnitude of construction is between $500,000 to $1,000,000.
Pre-Solicitation Notice will be issued on or about 30 Sept 96
Invitation DACW17-96-B-0052 will be issued on or about 18 Oct 96 and
opened on or about 21 Nov 96. Cost of Plans and Specifications is
$50.00. Checks should be made payable to FAO Jacksonville District, and
sent to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville, Florida. THIS IS AN
