Officer, (360) 396-0263. The work includes expansion/upgrading of the
existing Structural Breakwater to a functional berthing pier complete
with utilities. The principal features of the pier work include
demolition of existing stage 2 concrete pile caps to facilitate
integration of new precast prestressed deck panels, cast-in-place pile
caps, bullrails and curbs, precast concrete utility trench covers,
crushed surfacing, and cement concrete pavement. Other features include
electrical and mechanical service mounds and mooring fittings
consisting of bollards and cleats. The fender system on the pier
consist of resilient fender panels supported on steel pipe piles, steel
pipe protection piles between panels, steel pile cluster at pier
corner, and cathodic protection for steel components. The fender system
on the pier approach consist of a resilient treated timber fender
system. The utilities on the pier include potable water, sanitary
sewer, oily waste, compressed air, steam, condensate return,
telecommunication, 480V and 208V electrical distribution, and lighting.
Work also includes construction of three separate masonry buildings on
the pier housing switchgear and transformers and incidental related
work. During performance of this work, asbestos, hazardous waste, or
pollution abatement may be encountered. Plans and specifications will
be available on or about 24 October 1996 at no charge until supply is
exhausted. Contract completion time is 420 calendar days from date of
award. Estimated cost range is more than $10 Million. Solicitation
