These supports will be purchased for the National Weather Service (NWS) for stock to be delivered to the National Logistics Support Center, 1510 E. Bannister Rd., Kansas City, MO 64131. NSN: 6685-00-550-6739, ASN: C821. The Specification No. C821-SP003 consists of two thermometer holders supported on rotating sleeves, fitted to posts attached to a base plate. When mounted in the shelter the longer sleeve is at the bottom and supports the maximum thermometer, while the shorter one at the top supports the minimum thermometer. Both thermometers are clamped in place near their top ends and normally rest in nearly a horizontal position, their bulb ends extending to the left. The minimum thermometer is held with its bulb five degrees below the horizontal and is manually rotated into near vertical position-bulb end up-for resetting. The maximum thermometer rests with its bulb five degrees above the horizontal and is released for spinning during the process of resetting. It is anticipated the RFQ will be issued within 15 days after publication of this notice.
