Operation and Maintenance of the NCI Frederick Cancer Research and Development Center (NCI-FCRDC), a Government-Owned- Contractor-Operated research facility operating as a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC). The Center consists of 96 buildings and structures on 70 acres. The National Cancer Institute intends to negotiate a non-competitive eighteen month extension containing a two-year renewal option for a potential three and one half year continuation to current Contract No. N01-CO-56000 with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), 10260 Campus Point Drive, San Diego, California 92121. The statutory authority for this acquisition is 41 USC 253(c)(3) and the FAR reference is 6.302-3. It is necessary to award a contract modification to the incumbent contractor to maintain an essential capability for theoretical analyses, exploratory studies, and experiments in cancer and aids research.
