Officer, 301-975-6330 The National Institute of Standards and
Technology (NIST) intends to enter into a contract with Mr. John
McClure of Potomac, Maryland under the authority of 41 U.S.C.
253(c)(1), only one responsible source, to develop highly-accurate
measurement procedures, analysis of data, and reporting of results of
thermophysical experiments on high-melting- point metals and alloys
performed by subsecond pulse-heating techniques. Mr. McClure is highly
qualified to undertake the work as he has extensive experience in
research on subsecond-resolution thermophysical measurements and is
internationally known for his work in this field. He is therefore
uniquely qualified to perform under this contract. The Government
anticipates award of a firm-fixed-price contract for a period of
performance of one (1) year with options for two (2) additional years.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
Responses shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a
bonafide capability to fulfill the requirement. A solicitation is not
