Kelly, Phone (703)604-6100 The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a contract modification on behalf of the Swiss Air Force to McDonnell Douglas Corporation to extend the current Swiss Integrated Logistics Support program until 30 September 1997. The government of Switzerland has identified McDonnell Douglas Corporation as the sole source provider of F/A-18 aircraft and support services for the Swiss Air Force. NAVAIR intends to negotiate this procurement with McDonnell Douglas Aerospace (MDA), P.O. Box 516, St. Louis, MO 63166-0516, the designer, developer and sole manufacturer of the F/A-18 aircraft. MDA is the only known firm possessing the technical knowledge, expertise, and detailed familiarity with the design and modifications of the F/A-18 that is required to provide the requiring activity with timely development and intergration of the required services and supplies.
