Department of Energy intends to award a sole-source contract to SSDS,
Inc., of Vienna, VA, for the deployment of a pilot Medical Surveillance
Information System (MSIS) software system, testing and final
refinement. This phase requires MSIS deployment to up to four pilot
sites with software revisions as indicated by pilot deployment
experience and finalization of the MSIS. As the majority of the
software consists of source code developed by and proprietary to SSDS,
the proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the
Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under
authority of FAR 6.302. Interested parties may identify their
capability to respond to the requirement and submit price proposals.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals.
However, all proposals received within 45 days after publication of
this synopsis will be considered by the Government. Information
received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of
