202-452-5175. United States Department of Interior, Bureau of Land
Management (BLM) is required to properly manage and protect oil and gas
resources lying beneath Federal and Indian lands (Federal and
non-federal) located in the Eastern District. In order to manage these
properties, BLM requires accurate and timely reports of drilling and
exploration activities in a consistent format. Comprehensive production
data are required to determine recoverable reserves for a given well.
Because of BLM's requirement to obtain information about more than
isolated segments, the Petroleum Information Corporation has been
chosen to provide the BLM with the information to meet fluid minerals
operations and reservoir management program needs. PI is the only
source for well production data on CD ROM which meets the Bureau's
operational needs. Its data are more inclusive, covering more states,
and have production data going back considerably further than any other
known vendor. Historical data are important to BLM. See Numbered
