Q -- MAINTENANCE SERVICE AND CHEMICAL SUPPLIES SOL RFP 665-4-97 DUE 112296 POC Chris Crader, 818/895-9365, Contracting Officer Maintenance and supplies for two Superior boilers which produce 16000 lbs. of steam, located at the Sepulveda VA Medical Center. Need is for a water treatment program to provide protection in the prevention of scale, corrosion, slide, deposits, foaming, carryover and the removal of oxygen from steam/hot water boilers, deaerators, steam/condensate lines and boiler feed water system. In addition, the condenser cooling system must be kept free of scale and unacceptable levels of corrosion and microbiological growth. The heat transfer surfaces of the condenser and the cooling tower must be maintained clean and efficient. The program shall accomplish the following: reduce fuel and electrical consumption through improved transfer efficiency, minimize repair and maintenance cost, increase equipment life, reduce chemical/mechanical cleaning of boilers, thorough and effective in plant training, implementation and control of the chemical treatment program to personnel, provide professional knowledge and involved service/sale personnel, accurately monitor program results and communicate in writing appropriate recommendations, professional periodic consulting services and provide all chemical products.
