10 -- MODIFICATION TO SPECIAL APPLICATION SCOPED RIFLE SYSTEM (SASR) SAFETY UPGRADE SOL M67854-96-M-2131 DUE 102596 POC POC Mr. Jeff Campbell, FAX 703-784-5826. The Marine Corps Systems Command intends to modify purchase order M67854-96-M-2131 with Barrett Firearms Manufacturing, Inc., PO Box 1077, Murfreesboro, Tennessee 37133 to add a standard rail system (Picatinney Style, MIL-STD-1913 AR) during the safety modification process. Barrett Firearms is a Small Business Concern and the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 3484 and size is 1,000 employees. This modification will include the following: 1) Removal of the old scope base and grinding/finishing the upper receiver, 2) Fabrication of a new scope base and form fitting to the upper receiver, 3) Manufacture and installation of a new rail to include alignment and the application of a heat treating process, 4) Manufacture of new rings and installation of scope (Unteral 10X) insuring that the scope is optically aligned with the weapon, and 5) Re-parkerize upper receiver and return to Mod line. The Marine Corps does not possess the drawing package associated with this requirement. Vendors who have the capability to provide the requirements for this contract should submit in writing technical qualifications not later than 25 OCT 96.
