A -- AN/BSY-1(V)/AN/BQQ-5(V) TRAINER ACOUSTIC RAPID COTS INSERTION (A-RCI) SOL N00024-97-R-6232 DUE 112296 POC Chris Pigott, Contracting Officer, Code 02623, (703) 602-7703 The Naval Sea Systems Command has a requirement for the application of Acoustic Rapid Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) Insertion (A-RCI) to the AN/BSY-1(V) and AN/BQQ-5(V) trainers. This trainer upgrade revises the Depot Modernization Period (DMP) upgrades for these trainers (later renamed the ECP 1000 trainer upgrade) awarded under NAVSEA contract N00024-95-C-6535 to Loral Federal Systems Company (now Lockheed Martin Federal Systems) in January 1995. This revision adds the following requirements: (1) development and test of an upgrade which is applicable to all SSN 688, SSN 688I and SSBN 726 Class submarine trainers to integrate functions both in development and already developed for Towed Array, Hull Array, Sphere and other ship sensors; and, (2) procurement of hardware and software to upgrade common trainer Engineering Procurement Models. Specifically, these requirements will accomplish the following: inclusion of Obsolete Equipment Replacement (OER); rehosting of trainer unique software into workstations on a Local Area Network (LAN), modifying of trainer software to interface with tactical A-RCI software, and procurement of upgrade kits for additional AN/BSY-1(V) and AN/BQQ-5(V) trainer sites. NAVSEA intends to modify N00024-95-C-6535 to incorporate these trainer revisions because Lockheed Martin, as the primary designer and integrator of the AN/BSY-1(V) and AN/BQQ-5(V) systems, possesses the unique assets and facilities needed to meet all of the Navy's requirements.
