C -- A/E SERVICES - AMBULATORY SURGERY RENOVATION SOL 558-37-97 DUE 110196 POC Amelia S. Evans, 919-286-0411, x 6445 Request Architect/Engineer Services to design and provide working drawings, specifications and cost estimate at 50% and 100% design stages for Ambulatory Surgery Renovation in Building #1. Work involves: 1) The renovation of approximately 2500 s.f. of existing support space into 3 new operating rooms, to include an ambulatory surgery room, an open heart room, and an orthopedics room; 2) The renovation of existing operating rooms located on 4th floor, D-wing East into new support space; and 3) Rework all electrical power and lighting, replace all ceiling tile, carpeting and floor tile, rework medical gases and vacuum systems in the affected area, and reconfigure and balance all HVAC in the area to meet the specialized needs of an operating room setting. All work to be performed for this project must meet all National Fire Protection Association (NFPA); National Electric Code (NEC); Underwriters Laboratory Inc. (UL); Federal, State and Local regulations and codes; and JCAHO standards and guidelines. Design to be accomplished using AutoCad Release 13 or compatible format. Design and cost estimates to be in compliance with ''Book 2, A/E Submission for Conceptual Drawings, Preliminary Drawings, Working Drawings and Cost Estimates to the VA'' (green booklet). Preliminary design drawings are not available for this project. Estimated construction cost is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. All interested firms are required to submit their SF 254 and SF 255 no later than close of business (4:30 PM) on November 1, 1996.
