following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article
10.6. G/TBT/Notif.96.354. 1. Member to Agreement notifying: Thailand.

notified document: The 71st Announcement of the Committee on Labels
B.E. 2539 (1996)(1 page, Thai language). 6. Description of content:
This regulation is the amendment of the 61st Announcement of the
Committee on Labels B.E. 2537 (1994) which requires the labelling of
gear oil and lubricating oil to be sold in Thailand to contain: name
and address in Thailand of manufacturers/entrepreneurs, or name and
address in Thailand of importers/entrepreneurs, or registered trade
mark; manufacturing month and year; Thai words for ``gear oil'' and
``lubricating oil'' in Thai language*; grade; net volume (in metric
unit); instructions and/or precautions. The amendment is the
requirement to add mark and number registered with the Department of
Commercial Registration on the label. 7. Objective and rationale:
Consumer protection. 8. Relevant documents: N/A. 9. Proposed date of
adoption: Proposed date of entry into force: 7 January 1997. 10. Final
date for comments: 60 days after the circulation of this notification.
