Headquarters, U.S. Army Industrial Operations Command (HQ IOC) intends to contract for services required to remediate sites located at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren, Virginia that are contaminated with depleted Uranium and other metals associated with Spent Ordnance. Remediation shall occur by excavation of the contaminated soils. The waste will not require disposal as a mixed waste. Radiologival survey and sampling shall also be performed to release the sites for unrestricted use. A cost plus fixed fee contract is contemplated. A pre-proposal site visit is tentatively scheduled for 5 Nov 96. Approximate closing date is 6 Dec 96. Any contract award will be made only to a source approved under hq IOC's qualified bidders list for the low level radioactive waste disposal program in the categories of decontamination and decommissioning, and transportation and brokering.
