COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF OCTOBER 16,1996 PSA#1701US Army, CECOM Acquisition Center, Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey 07703-5008 58 -- MARKET SURVEY FOR FOREIGN NONDEVELOPMENTAL LINE-OF-SIGHT (LOS)
RADIOS. DUE 120696 POC Mr. James Tomaino (908)532-0290, or Ms. Pamela
Archer (908)427-2725. The Project Manager, Joint Tactical Area
Communications Systems (PM JTACS) seeks source, availability, and
estimated cost information regarding nondevelopmental technical
solutions for high capacity line-of-sight radios for use with tactical
switches to be procured under the US Army, Area Common User System
(ACUS) Modernization Program and/or the Improved Mobile Subscriber
Equipment (IMSE) program for Foreign Military Sales (FMS). Changes to
associated antennas, antenna masts, ancillary equipment, and management
systems will also be considered. Products will be evaluated under the
Department of Defense Foreign Comparative Testing program to find those
that meet ACUS Modernization Program and/or IMSE FMS requirements.
Radios to be evaluated are intended to replace the current AN/GRC-226
configuration used in the ACUS and IMSE architectures. However, radios
that meet the current AN/GRC-226 specification may be considered for
FMS use if a nondevelopmental upgrade to a configuration suitable for
ACUS Modernization Program use is presently available. Changes to
current AN/GRC-226 requiremetns for LOS radios to be procured for the
ACUS Modernization Program include: propagation range improvements,
increased data transmission capacity, frequency band(s) utilization
suitable for worldwide tactical use in the 1998-2010 time frame,
improved reliability, improved maintainability, and reduced
susceptibility to the effects of electronic warfare. For additional
information regarding the ACUS Modernization Program, IMSE, the
Department of Defense Foreign Cooperative Testing Program, or the
current AN/GRC-226 configuration contact PM JTACS, at (908)427-2725.
Submit responses in writing to PEO C3S; SFAE-C3S-JTC-FMS; Fort
