equal), 9U Form Factor 16 Compute Element (CE), Multicomputing Board
with a Run Time License per CE, and a one-year hardware warranty, 4
each. 0002 Option I - Two additional Mercury Computer MCV9-16X8 (or
equal). 0003 Option II - Two additional Merc ury Computer MCV9-16X8 (or
equal). SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: Hardware. --80 MFLOPS single precision
per compute element (CE). --60 MFLOPS double precision per CE. --8
Mbytes of main error correcting memory per CE. --VME bus interface with
VME64 capability with 70 MB/s sustained I/O. --On-board DMA controller
per CE which transfers data at the maximum rate of the bus(es) being
accessed independently of CE processing. --Separate inter-board private
bus with a minimum throughput of two 160 MB / sec cha nnels between
boards. These channels must support an interrupt priority scheme which
allows deterministic transfers. --Hardware and software support to
allow a minimum of 64 compute elements units to work simultaneously on
a single application (5.12 GFlops) with a minimum aggregate I/O
bandwidth of 10 GB /sec (broadcast by a single CE to the other 63
CE's). --160 MBytes / sec CE to memory bandwidth for all tranfers,
including transfers to shared memory located on another board.
--Configurations which ha ve fewer than 16 compute elements per board
and / or power consumption greater than 100 W per board will be subject
to added costs when the proposal is technically evaluated. --Compatible
with existing front end development system which runs on a SUN 4/260
and under SUN OS 4.1.3. Software Requirements. --VXWorks version 5.1 or
greater license(s) and driver. --Run time license for the array
processors' operating system and high level languages listed below.
--Optimizing C compiler witl1 standard I/O. --Optimizing Scientific
algorithm library. --Enhanced Scien tific algorithm library which
allows program control of the CE's memory cache and with documented
execution times. --An Application Programming Interface (API) which is
Graphical Use Interface (GUI) based which supports the native
