Provide all labor and material necessary for the rewind of the Bow
Propulsion Unit (BPU) Motor on USCGC Jarvis(WMEC 725). The BPU Motor
manufacturer is Tech. Systems, Inc. (formerly Electronic Specialty
Co.), and has the following characteristics: Class F Inssulation, 440
VAC voltage, 1180 RPM, 425Current, 3 Phase, 60 Hz, 350 Horsepower; Type
and Frame is 660M16, Wound-Rotor, frawing 01-0015, 6-delta Stator and
Rotor Connections. Required repairs shall include : 1) Rigging and
removal of the rotor of the Bow Propulsion Unit (BPU) motor, 2) Perform
rewind of the rotor at a certified repair facility, 3) Furnish a
Condition Found Report a) describing the condition of the BPU Motor
Stator, and b) make recommendation as to the necessity of an in-place
rewind. The Government reserves the right to activate a pre-priced
contract line item for performance of an in-place stator rewind, if
determined to be necessary. Exluding the rewind of the motor and
manufacturing of the stator windings, if necessary, all work described
shall be accomplished on board USCGC Jarvis-- the cutter's homepier is
Honolulu, Hawaii--The vessel's Availability Schedule is 12 November
1996 thru 20 December 1996-- The proposed contract listed here is set
aside for small businesses only--Plans and specifications will be
issued on or after 25 October 1996--All responsible sources shall be
considered by the United States Coast Guard. For Women-owned and
Disadvantaged Business Enterprises. The Department of Transportation
(DOT) Minority, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization
has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged
business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance
for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Porgram (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
