The U.S. Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) is conducting a MARKET SURVEY
to identify sources interested in providing mailroom services at its
headquarters location, 844 North Rush Street, Chicago, Illinois
60611-2092. The vendor shall provide the necessary services,
supervision, labor, and all equipment. The work primarily includes
processing incoming (50,000+/month), outgoing mail (120,000+/month),
and internal mail delivery. Vendor will be responsible for sorting all
mail by department preparing mail for internal delivery, daily
processing of correspondence following established procedures,
preparing all outgoing mail - foreign and domestic, meter outgoing mail
at appropriate rates, monitor postage level and replenish as necessary,
receive, log and distribute materials per various distribution lists,
compile written information for management reports, track personnel
movement to ensure accurate delivery, coordinate all activity for
outgoing intercompany mail to specified locations, and prepare outgoing
mail for courier pickup adhering to U.S. Postal Service regulations.
Companies having the ability to furnish this type of service are
requested to give written notice (including telephone number for a
point of contact) and detailed data regarding capability to perform
this service. The should also provide the following information: (1) a
description of mailing services of the above described or similar
configuration provided by contract to at least three separate
companies/Federal Government agencies. This description should detail
the type and volume of mailroom services provided, staffing levels, and
equipment used; (2) client contacts, name and phone number for the
engagements detailed above; and (3) price ranges to provide the
described mailroom processing services. Hard copy of the requested
information must be received at the RRB no later than fifteen calendar
days after publication of this notice. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR
PROPOSALS (RFP). NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS. No telephone calls
will be accepted. Any further questions regarding this Request for
Information (RFI) must be in writing on company letterhead and can be
faxed to Mr. Paul Ahern of the RRB Purchasing Division at (312)
