Wilford Romero (505)842-3342. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation
for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in sub
part 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this
notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation;
invitation for bids are requested and a written solicitation will not
be issued. The solicitation number is R3-97-1. This acquisition is
unrestricted. The solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses
are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-44. The
solicitation line item is as follows: 001, lease of Data General
MV-9800. The specifications and/or scope of work is as follows: This
solicitation is issued for the purpose of providing a contract which
may be used to meet the requirements of the National Forests within the
Southwestern Region. The Forest Service intends to acquire/lease
Central Processing Units Data General MV-9800. Data General, MV-400 is
presently installed. Existing Data General equipment will be traded in
for upgrade MV-9800 system. Costs shall include DMV-9800, removal of
existing equipment, installation of leased equipment, maintenance for
leased equipment less trade-in of existing equipment. This contract
shall remain in effect through September 30, 1997, with three renewable
options. No price increase will be accepted after the date of award
including renewal periods. The orders are placed by means of a task
order with specifically defined scopes, and as needed. The total value
of any single task order placed under this contract shall include
equipment, licensing, labor for packing trade-in equipment,
installation of leased equipment, travel, per diem, and other
associated costs. A task order specifies and authorizes work to be
accomplished by the Contractor to satisfy a Government requirement. It
will specify a scope of work, schedule for its completion, and
acceptance criteria, and total price less trade-in allowance. The
monthly lease charge shall begin on the commencement date. The charge
for partial month's lease shall be prorated at 1/30th of the monthly
charge per day. The commencement date is the date by which the
Contractor must have the ordered equipment ready for use and shall be
established as the first workday following the day on which it is
installed and certified ready for use. Maintenance and installation are
to be included in the monthly lease-charge. The Contractor shall be
responsible for packing and removal of replaced equipment and any or
all costs associated with the traded-in Data General equipment. The
provisions in FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items
and 52.212.3, Offerors Representations and Certifications, Commercial
Items, and 52-212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions, Commercial Items
applies to this acquisition. The Clause 52.212-5, Contract Terms and
Conditions Required to Implement Statues or Executive Orders-Commercial
Items applies to this acquisition With the Following Applicable Clauses
Cited in Paragraph (b):, 52.203-6,52.203-10, 52.222-26, 52.222.36,
52.222-37, 52.225-3, 52.225-9. In addition, the following clauses
apply: 52.216-18, 52.217-9. This will be an Indefinite Quantity
contract for the supplies specified and effective from date of award to
September 30, 1997, and Three 1-Year Renewable Options, and as
specified in Clause 52.216-22 Indefinite Quantity, and 52.217-9 Option
to Extend the Term of the Contract. Any responses to this

Vendors wishing to respond to this solicitation should provide the
following: pricing for base period, plus renewal option for three years
for CPU, Data General MV-9800 on company/firms's letterhead showing
monthly lease price, extended prices, including all applicable taxes,
FOB destination, and completed FAR Clause 52.212-3, Offer,
Representations, and Certifications, Commercial Items. Offers must be
in writing accompanied by the completed Representations and
Certifications or they will be rejected. Evaluation-Commercial Items
shall be in accordance with Clause 52.212-2. Evaluation is based on the
following evaluation factors: (a) technical capability of the CPU
offered and, (b) price. Facsimile and telegraphic or oral offers will
not be accepted. Offers are due no later than 1630 hours on October 30,
