This is a notice of intent to place an order on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302 with Kastner Design Associates of Honolulu for original Hawaiian landscape photographs by Steven Kastner matted and mounted in a variety of sizes of divided modular frames. The miscellaneous pieces are for a newly constructed VA Center for the Aging in Honolulu, Hawaii. The photographs to be used are of various sizes, and depicting multiple landscapes of the Hawaiian Islands. The frames are constructed of local Hawaiian Koa wood, and are modular in design. The photographs are matted in the frame and then treated through a glazing process using a thin, hot-vacuum laminated layer of UV retardant film which is glare free and extends the life of the art, also providing a surface which can be easily cleaned. No solicitation document exists at this time and no telephone inquiries will be accepted. Written responses, including technical data sufficient to determine capability to meet the requirement must be received by this office within 15 calendar days after publication of this notice. If no affirmative responses are received within this time to determine that a comparable source more advantageous to the government is available, an order will be placed with the above vendor.
