Powell, Contract Specialist (352) 374-6033, FAX (352) 374-6117 Design services to furnish complete construction documents (plans and specifications) and construction period services to replace replace sewer lines at the VA Medical Center, Gainesville, FL 32608. The project includes complete replacement of sanitary sewer lines in the main hospital building. The A/E should have extensive experience with plumbing renovation projects and general experience with health care facility renovation projects. The A/E firm selected will be required to perform all necessary site survey work, such as verifying record drawings and analyzing utility systems. The A/E firm selected will be required to retain a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) to provide expertise in all aspects of assessing, abating, monitoring, and making recommendations concerning asbestos within the project scope of work. Firms should have the capability of producing construction drawings on a computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) system compatible with autocad release 12 software. Selection will be based upon recent specialized experience, professional capacity to accomplish work, professional qualifications of staff and consultants assigned to project. Estimated construction cost of this project is between 500,000 and 1 million. Consideration is limited to business concerns within a 150 mile radius of Gainesville, FL.
