Clutz, (301) 619-2395 (Site Code DAMD17) The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity is planning to negotiate with Coulter Corporation for the maintenance of a Government owned Coulter Elite ESP Flow Cytometry Cell Sorter. The equipment is located at the Division of Retrovirology at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, Washington, DC. This instrument is a vital part of the diagnostic service and the research of the Division of Retrovirology. The information it provides is used to determine the progress of the disease in HIV infected personnel and which clinical decisions about patient care are made. The procurement shall be accomplished under other than full and open competition procedures, as Coulter Corporation is the only source with technically trained personnel and has the knowledge needed to capably maintain its own equipment.
