converting janitor closet in 1st floor to a public toilet; draft
curtain in attic; install a new phone system; furnish fire
extinguishers and install them in cabinets; install furring on dorm
room head walls; install exterior lighting; partially demolish existing
building and grounds area; provide electrical system and mechanical
system; provide new package chiller, boiler unit, and new fan coil
units with all piping included; replacefire alarm system; replace cable
TV cable and outlets; refurbish the walls, floors, and some interior
finishes; and install a new fire sprinkler system. Estimated magnitude
of work is between 1,000,000 and 5,000,000. Invitation for Bid will be
opened on or about 10 December 1996 at 2:00 p.m. Plans and
specifications will be available on or about 7 November 1996 at a cost
of $49.50 solicitation documents and full size drawings; $14.00
solicitation documents only. This charge is non refundable.
Solicitation documents will be made available upon written request, to
include check or money order payable to FAO, U.S. Army, Corps of
Engineers, LRD, and mailed to Contracting Division at the above
address. The SIC Code is 1522. This acquisition is unrestricted
advertising, open to both small and large business concerns. All
responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered. Bidders
are advised that this requirement may be delayed, cancelled, or revised
at any time during the solicitation process and/or final award process
and is subject to the availability of funds. If a subcontracting plan
is required, the following minimum subcontracting goals will be
applicable. Small Business Subcontracting - 53%, Small Disadvantaged
