253-8882. The Federal Bureau of Prisons seeks to award a firm-fixed
priced contract for the removal of asbestos containing material from
the Administration Building at the United States Penitentiary, located
in Terre Haute, IN. Contractor will be responsible for providing all
labor and materials necessary to remove approximately 4,500 sq. ft. of
ACM sprayed on ceiling insulation, 3,600 sq. ft. of 1'' x 1'' ceiling
tile adhesive, and 820 LF of TSI (335 LF of which is located in the
basement area). Contractor shall also be responsible for the removal
and replacement of approximately 8,000 sq. ft. of suspended ceiling
tile and accompanying grid as well as approximately 600 LF of
fiberglass flexible duct. Contractor will be required to reinstall all
ceiling lights and HVAC grills and diffusers and flexible duct removed
during abatement and/or removal of the ceiling tile and grid. All work
must be accomplished by a certified asbestos abatement contractor,
certified by the state of Indiana through Indiana department of
Environmental Resources (IDEM), and must comply with all rules and
regulations established by IDEM. This procurement is a 100% small
business set-aside. Estimate cost for this project is between $250,000
to $500,000. Solicitation will be available for issue on, or about,
November 8, 1996, with a bid opening date of December 11, 1996. All
