Renville The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard is interested in equipment capable of removing water and particulate contaminates and in reducing the acidity of hydraulic fluid. The fluid is a Tri Aryl Phosphate based hydraulic fluid called FRYQUEL. It is used in aircraft elevators and is manufactured to MIL-H-19457. During normal operations it can become contaminated with water and particulate. In some cases the acidity also increases. The equipment must be capable of removing water contaminated with approximately .3% by volume down to .1% or less by volume. The particulate levels must be reduced from a typical ISO Code 22/21 down to as ISO Code 15/12. The acid must be reduced from a typical acid number of 0.5 mg KOH/gram to a maximum acid number of 0.1 mg KOH/gram. The process must obtain the required water, particulate and acid reduction by processing the fluid in a single pass at 10 GPM flow rate. The process must not alter the physical or chemical composition of the hydraulic fluid in any way except for the specified water. particulate and acid reductions. The equipment must be portable and mounted on one or more skids for movement by forklift. Firms having demonstrated experience and expertise in this area should submit a statement of capabilities, including, at a minimum, previous experience, description of facilities and personnel qualifications.
