Laboratory(NRL) conducts basic and applied R&D programs aimed at
solving current and future Navy problems in the fields of fuels,
combustion, fire research, damage control, atmospheric hazards,
existing Navy propulsion fuels and new fuels from alternate sources.
NRL has a broad mission requiring contractor support that is highly
technical, diverse, and responsive. Individual tasks are as follows:
Task 1- Performance of Navy Fuels as a function of Compositional and
Physical Properties, Task 2- Combustion and Modeling, Task 3- Halon
Replacement, Task 4- Fire Suppression System Modeling and Engineering,
Task 5- Statistical Research in Support of Shipboard Combustion
Research Tests, Task 6- Fuel Chemistry in Support of Naval Air
Engineering Programs, Task 7- US Navy Chlorofluorocarbon and Halon
Information Clearinghouse(CHIC). The period of performance for the Base
effort is 12 months with four(4) 12 month options. Request for
