SERVICES FOR REPAIR AND ALTERATION CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS FOR THE MAINE
DISTRICT'S AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY SOL 082530-97-A-0009 DUE 112096 POC

US Postal Service is seeking general architectural and engineering
services for the preparation of drawings, specifications, cost
estimates, and construction administration required for small repair
and alteration projects for the Maine District's area of
responsibility. The contract will be subject to negotiation of
individual work orders. In each instance, $100,000 has been established
as the work order limit per individual project; $500,000 has been
establised as the total amount of work ordered per 12 month period. The
contract will be for two years with three 1-year renewal options which
can bring the duration of the contract to five years. The total amount
of work for the duration (5 years) of the contract may not exceed
$2,500,000. There is no guaranteed minimum. The average work order is
estimated between $1500 and $10,000. The USPS reserves the right to
select more than one firm. Firms which possess the qualifications to
perform the serices described above are invited to submit a completed
SF255, ''Architect-Engineer and Rleated Services Questionnaire'', and
a completed SF254, ''Archiect-Enginer and Related Services
Questionnaire for a Specific Project'' to the above office no later
than Wednesday, November 20, 1996. Selection criteria will be conducted
with the combined use of SF254 and SF255. Interested fims with more
than one office should indicate on their SF254 and SF255 the staffing
composition of the office in which the work will be performed. Firms
(with the use of their consultants) must have on their staffing the
following registered disciplines, who must be registered in the state
of Maine: Architect, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer.
Considerations will be given to interested firms in the following
order: 1) Local, being within the state of Maine; 2) All others.
Architectural/engineering firms firms will be considered as local only
if their sole office is in the geographical area or they have a local
brnach office and all the architectural design, coordination and
managemnt of the project will be accomplished in that office. It is
prohibited to pay any fee, commission, percentage or brokerage fee to
any person or firm contingent upon, or resulting from award of a
contract. Offerors are encouraged to submit their response by one of
