Previous announcement was in error, it read due date as 10/19/96. The correct submission date for Solicitation 573-012-97 is 11/18/96. Design services to furnish complete construction documents (Plans and Specifications) and construction period services to upgrade medical gas systems, at the VA Medical Center, Gainesville, FL 32608. The project includes various upgrades and component replacements to bring facility's medical gas systems up to current NFPA 99, 1996 edition, code requirements. The A/E should have extensive experience with health care facility renovation in general and medical gas systems in particular. The A/E firm selected will be required to perform all necessary site survey work, such as verifying record drawings and analyzing utility systems. The selected A/E will also be required to retain a Certified Insdustrial Hygienist (CIH) to provide expertise in all aspects of assessing, abating, monitoring and making recommendations concerning asbestos and lead paint within the project scope of work. Firms should have the capablity of producing construction drawings on a computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) system compatible with autocad release 12 software. Selection will be based upon recent specialized experience, professional capacity to accomplish work, professional qualifications of staff and consultants assigned to project. Estimated construction cost of this project is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. Consideration is limited to Emerging Small Business Concerns (currently A/E firms who's average annual gross revenue for the last 3 fiscal years is not greater than 1.25 million), within a 150 mile radius of Gainesville, FL.
