The U.S. Geological Survey intends to enter into non-competitivenegotiations with Environmental Systems Research Institute of Redlands, CA, to acquire GISsoftware to run on non-Unix platforms and be able to access and query Arc/INFO vector andraster spatial data sets directly from magnetic disk stored on UNIX computer platforms.Documentation/media, maintenance support services and training will be acquired as well.The USGS has a major investment in development of Arc/INFO spatial data sets for UNIXplatforms. This investment coupled with technological advancements in non-UNIX operatingsystem computer platforms warrants a sole source procurement to run coincident with thecontract awarded to ESRI in April 1993 to run through April 1999 for software supportservices for Arc/INFO software with Network, TIN and GRID modules. Firms which believe they can provide the above are invited to submit an affirmative response within 45days of the publication date of this notice in accordance with Numbered Note 22. Anaffirmative response shall include literature, brochures, and other such information whichdemonstrates the vendor~s ability to provide the software, documentation/media, maintenancesupport services and training.
