D -- RELEASE OF SOLICITATION FOR THE COMMERCE, INTERNET, ELECTRONIC MAIL ACCESS (CINEMA) ACQUISITION SOL TQC-SG-97-0001. DUE 120996. POC Steve Granata, Contract Specialist, (703) 610-2805. The General Services Administration (GSA) intends to issue a solicitation for commercially available Electronic Commerce (EC), Electronic Mail (E-mail), and Internet Access services provided to Federal Telecommunications Service (FTS) users nationwide. Services are to be provided in the United States according, but not limited, to the following specifications, standards, and requirements: X.400 E-mail; SMTP E-mail and Internet Access conforming to the specifications of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF); and Electronic Commerce with transactions conforming to X.12. For purposes of this acquisition the United States is defined as the 48 contiguous states, plus Alaska and Hawaii. Use of the resulting contracts will be at the discretion of customer agencies, not mandatory. The contract will consist of a two year base period with three one year options, and will feature direct service ordering by customers. Additionally, GSA will distribute electronic copies of the Solicitation, in the same software format, on 3.5-inch PC format diskettes, to all parties on the bidders mailing list.
