Maintenance and Logistic Command Pacific Area is proposing a contract
for the drydocking and repairs of the USCGC EDISTO homeported Cresent
City, CA. The work shall be performed at the contractor's facility. The
period of performance commences 24 February thru 25 April 1997. The
major work items include and not limited to: temporary services,
drydocking/hauling, underwater preservation (partial), sea valve
overhaul, rigid haul inflatable (RHI) davit quadrennial overhaul,
anchor windlass overhaul, fathometer transducer renewal, fin stabliizer
system biennial overhaul, halon system upgrade, fire pump overhaul,
upper exhaust transition piece renewal and etc. The solicitation will
be issued on or about 18 November 1996. This procurement is under the
Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program. This notice is for
informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned, Disadvantaged
Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of
Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilitzation (OSDBU), has programs to
assist minority, women-owned and disadvantage business enterprises to
acquire short-term working capital for transportation-related
contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program
(STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000. For further
