The MILSATCOM Joint Program Office will hold a pre-solicitation conference for potential offerors for the Digital Processing EM program on 29 Oct 96 beginning at 0900 at the Aerospace Corporation, Building A-3, Cafeteria Dining Room B, 2350 E. El Segundo Blvd., El Segundo, CA. This conference signals the active continuation of the EM solicitation process, with contract award projected for the third quarter of FY 97. The topics addressed during the morning session of this day-long conference will include a description of technical and programmatic changes made since Incremental Draft RFP Release #3, a projected timeline of activities leading to contract award, projected contract type and provisions for limiting contract cost. Anticipated changes to the program include: allowing for the award of up to three EM contracts rather than two as previously planned, adding the requirement that EM contractors provide support for the development of the Advanced EHF Operational Requirements Document, and allowing potential offerors to propose risk reduction efforts in other areas in addition to those planned for the digital processing subsystem. The government will solicit feedback on the information presented via hour-long, one-on-one sessions with potential offerors beginning at 1200.
