The following project is revised by restricting competitive bidding for this solicitation to those 8(a) contractors located in the Small Business Administration's Area 3 (old Region IV) who are certified for Standard Industrial Classification Code 1542. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This project is for the construction of a 4,162 square meter facility to house 38 fixed tactical vehicle simulation modules for the United States Simulation, Training and Instrumentation Command (STRICOM). The facility includes a simulator bay, maintenance areas, classrooms, friendly and opposing force rooms, conference room and supporting mechanical/electrical rooms and latrines. The facility will be a pre-engineered building with a standing seam metal roof. Exterior walls will be brick, metal panels and EIFS. Site improvements include an asphalt parking lot, a fenced concrete hardstand, sidewalks, lighting, utilities, fiber optics, and lightning protection. PROJECT DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION IN METRIC UNITS.
