of this project is for the procurement of a construction firm to
provide all supervision, labor, materials and equipment necessary to
renovate the Federal Building and Courthouse in Camden, NJ. The
Building consist of four stories, built between 1928-1932, contains
approximately 55,900 occupiable square feet (osf) and gross square
feet, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Upon
completion it will provide space for the district and bankruptcy courts
and related tenants. The building is located on the southwest corner of
4th and Market Streets, in Camden central business district. The
facility will function in tandem with the adjacent Mitchell H. Cohen
Annex, completed in 1994. Proposed work would included the new addition
of a communicating stair, lobby and gallery connection to the Annex at
the second floor. The remaining 2nd floor, 1st floor, 3rd floor and
4th floors will consist of varying degrees of renovation for general
office space and federal agencies, and includes work in the following
areas; demolition, asbestos removal, historic renovation and
restoration, new partitions and ceilings, insulation, wood paneling and
millwork, drywall, plaster, doors (new and restored, elevators (new and
upgrades), HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical power and
distribution, lighting, security systems, built-in fixtures, painting
and finishes, carpeting and other associated work. The approximate
duration of the contract will be for a twenty month period. The
estimate for this work is for more than $10 million. This is a metric
project, drawings and specifications are prepared utilizing metric
units. Offers will be evaluated in accordance with Source Selection
Procedures outlined in the solicitation package based on the following
two evaluation factors: 1) Past Performance and 2) Key Personnel
Qualifications as well as Price Related Factors. This is a negotiated
procurement and is being solicited through full and open competition.
There will be a non-refundable charge of $175.00 for bid documents
which includes amendments. Documents should be available on or before
November 15, 1996. For copies please submit a certified check, cashiers
