Number, 617/494-3024. The Volpe National Transportation Systems Center
has a requirement for term type task ordered contract with a three (3)
year period of performance in anticipated. The Contractor shall perform
analyses and tests required for the determination of the effectiveness
of various restraint systems in highway vehicles. Engineering
mechanics, dynamics, bioengineering and impact trauma medicine are
applicable disciplines. Required skills and abilities cover the areas
of crash victim simulation, sled tests with anthropomorphic dummies
restrained by safety devices. Capabilities and experience in: (1)
vehicle crash pulse and intrusion definition, (2) used of crash victim
simulations such as MVMA-2D and ATB, (3) modeling of restraint systems
parametric indentification, (4) sled test operation, instrumentation
and data acquisition, and (5) optimization methods related to the
enhancement of vehicle safety are requirements. Requests for a copy of

Utilization has programs to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts.
Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at
prime interest rates up to $500,000 per contract to provide accounts
receivable financing. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms
to apply for bid, performance payment bonds up to $500,000 per
contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a
