The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has a need, under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures, for small business-small purchase set-aside, multiple-award labor hour Purchase Orders for the following service in Fiscal Years 1997 with option years for Fiscal Year 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2001. This requirement is to obtain the services of translators with the ability to translate a wide range of languages, including but not limited to: Arabic, Chinese (all dialects), Farsi, Italian, Japanses, Korean, Russian, Romanian, Sicilian, Spanish, Thai, and Vietnamese. Services shall be performed at FBI locations throughout the United States. This requirement is contingent upon Fiscal Year funding (Fiscal year being October 1 of the year through September 30 of the following year) for each year. Interested parties must be U.S. citizens, have successfully passed the FBI Foreign Language test battery and have an FBI top secret clearance. Call local FBI offices to take the test. Respondents should submit a statement setting forth their qualifications, including experience education, and test scores. The qualifications statement should include the linguist's complete name, address, social security number, phone number, date of birth and citizenship. Upon approval of the qualifications statement, receipt of language test score and a limited name check, Request for Quotation (RFQ) 70001 will be issued.
