embankment; 98,000 ton select topping; 35,000 sqyd roadway
obliteration; 4.2 miles obliteration of existing roadbed; 1,235 sqyd
earthwork geotextile; 45,000 sqyd topsoil; 1,090 ea plants; 1,050 live
fascines; 104 cuyd structural concrete; 13,115 lb reinforcing steel;
1,200 cuyd riprap; 13,300 lnft ditchlining/loose riprap; 5,000 cuyd
mechanically placed rock embankment; 40 hrs traffic control; 412 slry
units turf establishment; 15 acres temp turf establishment; 11 acres
dry seeding; 12,700 sqyd matting; and other small items of work. Work
shall be completed by October 1, 1998. Estimated price range is between
$2,500,000 and $5,000,000. Presolicitation Notices are being provided
to firms on this agency's mailing list concurrently with the
publication of this synopsis.----The following applies only to
Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The
Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged
Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority,
women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the
DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to
provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
