F40650-97-R-0003 DUE 112596 POC Sue Tate, Contract Specialist,
(615)454-7801 Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC) has a need
for Digital Universal Thermocouple Reference System components to
include 20-channel and 100-channel units. Each Digital Universal
Thermocouple Reference System unit shall be a highly accurate
temperature measuring system and shall consist of integral uniform
temperature reference block, low-level multiplexer, dual-integration
16-bit analog-to-digital converter, measurement processor and Bitbus
serial communications interface in an environmental enclosure.
Temperature reference block shall be segmented into 5 channel modules
each having a Pt100 platinum resistance sensor for precisely measuring
the module's temperature. Each 20 or 100 channel unit shall sample and
digitize the input channels at the rate of ten times per second per
channel and shall output the data in a serial bit stream. Output bit
stream shall be in IEEE-118 (Bitbus) format and shall consist of
corrected thermocouple voltages and platinum sensor resistance. Units
shall be designed for installation on the mounting structure of a
turbojet engine being tested in an altitude test cell and shall
withstand the environmental conditions encountered therein. Units shall
provide an overall system accuracy of 0.2 degrees Celsius over an
ambient temperature range of -20 to +60 degrees Celcius when operating
in this environment. Units shall be self-calibrating using internal
standards and shall maintain the above accuracy for a period of one
year. Software shall be supplied for an IBM-compatible PC that
willperform set-up, checkout and calibration of the Digital Universal
Thermocouple Reference System. Bitbus interface and PC will be provided
by the Government. Delivery of each shipment shall be FOB Destination
no later than 90 calendar days after notice of award. The Government
anticipates a total quantity of 23 each 20-channel units and 39 each
100-channel units. This is not a request for proposals. This
procurement is being considered for a sole source five (5) year
requirements contract to Kaye Instruments. Responses must be received
not later than 15 days after date of publication of this announcement.
Firms responding to this synopsis should do so in writing and indicate
whether they are or are not a small business, or a small disadvantaged
business. You may send requests by facsimile to (615)454-7330. See
