The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate on a non-competitive basis under the authority of 41 USC 253 and FAR 6.302-1 with 3D Ultrasound, Inc. to purchase a Janus 1.0 Real-Time Volumetric Scanner for installation in the Echocardiography Laboratory, Cardiology Branch, NHLBI, NIH. The system shall allow real-time three-dimensional imaging of the heart as well as the calculation of left ventricular volume and mass. The system must meet the following minimum specifications: 1) Mobile, independent system; 2) 256 channel transmit; 3) 256 channel receive with 16:1 parallel processing; 4) 2.56 MHz 2D 512 channel probe; 5) 128 element 3.0 MHz standard phased array; 6) 3 second volume storage with optical disk drive, data management and review software; 7) EKG; 8) Measurement software; and 9) Audible Doppler. Interested respondents must submit written capability statements, including clear and convincing documentation, technical information, and descriptions demonstrating their ability to meet the Government's requirements. Responses providing insufficient information for evaluation will not be considered. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. All written responses must be received within 45 calendar days from the publication date of this notice and should be directed to Kathleen J. Van Steelant at the above address.
