R -- RELIABILITY, MAINTAINABILITY AND QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEERING SUPPORT SOL N00024-97-R-5470 POC Jen Fern, Contract Negotiator, (703)602-7900 X592 This procurement will increase the scope of Contract N00024-96-C-5400 with Bird Engineering by adding manhours to provide Reliability, Maintainability, Availability, and Quality Assurance engineering and configuration management support for the design, acquisition and fleet support of the RAM MK 31 Guided Missile Weapon System (GMWS). Bird Engineering is the primary contractor for Quality Assurance Engineering Support to the Phalanx CIWS, which has commonality with the GMWS, and is the only firm with the requisite knowledge to complete the effort. Therefore, the Navy intends to solicit this requirement on a sole source basis to Bird Engineering in Vienna, Virginia. See Numbered Note(s): 22. (0298)
