This requirement is to provide vehicle operations and maintenance to the 24th Transportation Squadron, Howard Air Force Base, Panama, Republic of Panama. The contractor shall provide the personnel, equipment, tools, materials, management and supervision, and other items and services necessary to maintain and manage a fleet of approximately 703 vehicles/equipment. Vehicles consist of various types such as general purpose, special purpose, construction, base maintenance and material handling. Contractor shall be required to provide minor maintenance such as repair/replacement of tires and batteries, body repairs, etc, to the entire fleet; with major maintenance on approximately 408 general purpose vehicles. Contractor shall manage u-drive-it services and provide base taxi service, bus/shuttle, cargo movement, protocol support, and required transportation services in support of natural disasters and combat readiness operations. The Government anticipates award of a basic year with four one year options and six months contingency option for a total of five years and 6 months. NOTE: Pending a mutual agreement by the governments of the Republic of Panama and the United States, in which it is determined to be in the best interest of the governments to have continued United States Air Force presence in the Republic of Panama at Howard Air Force Base after the completion of the Torrijos-Carter Treaty of 1977, options II, III and IV may be exercised at the discretion of the primary contracting officer.
